Last Saturday of each month - Sandwich Farmers Market
Sandwich Farmers Market is held on the Guildhall Forecourt between 9am and 1pm (March to November inclusive). There is a variety of stalls each week including fish, game, organic butcher, olives, cheeses, fresh flowers, plants, eggs, fruit and vegetables, cakes and whole foods. Sunday 22nd to Monday 30th August - Sandwich Festival
Sandwich's Bank Holiday Festival starts with a 10K Road Race and 5K Fun Run on Sunday 22 August and finishes with a Jazz Concert at Gazen Salts on Bank Holiday Monday 30 August. This years festival will include Wine Tasting, Cinema Evening, Simultaneous Chess Competition, the Becker Symphony Orchestra, ABBA Tribute Band, Circus Skills Workshop, Classic Cars, Illuminated Boat Parade and Motorcycle meet. Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th September - Heritage Open Weekend
Few people know that Sandwich was the first in Britain to have a preservation order placed on the entire town.Over the weekend visitors will be able to explore and get inside medieval houses, churches and public buildings, some dating back to the 13th century. Peter Greenhalfs ARPS, AOP
In 1980 Peter was awarded a Kodak Bursary for nature conservation photography and, in 1999, received a Silver medal from the Association of Photographers for his landscape photography. In April 2006 he was invited to judge the International Wildlife Photography Competition in France and has twice exhibited his landscape photographs at the Festival de L'Oiseaux in Picardy.
Peter has worked extensively in the United States, Greece and Japan. His work is much in demand by museams and collections including Brighton Museum, Cheekwood Museum, Nashville and the Holtzman Collection, New York. He also regulary exhibits in various galleries in the South East, in London and at Brighton Art Fair.
